Above, the T95 hull appears at the left with the turret and power train removed. Details at the right rear of the tank can be seen in the photograph above at the right. The hull of the T95 chassis was an armored steel structure used to mount the turret, power train, suspension, and other components of the vehicle. It was divided into two sections with the crew compartment in the front and the engine compartment in the rear. A homogeneous steel armor casting comprised the front, top, and sides of the hull extending to the rear of the crew compartment.

At this time, questions were being raised regarding the progress of the Army's main tank development program, that for the 90mm gun tank T95.
